The Challenge

Leslie Oh has been making digital collages for decades – and she decided it was time to share.
Not only did she need to gather all of her artwork, but also decide on a domain name, and get something up there!

The Goals

• Come up with a catchy but clear domain / business name
• Gather and optimize a good selection of images, but not too many!
• Create an online gallery to support her beginning forays into traditional brick-and-mortar galleries
• Reflect Leslie’s taste and character through her site and art

The Challenge

Wendyll Brown is an accomplished painter who worked with me to develop her first website in 2008. She came back after a decade to bring her gallery site up to date. From a custom-coded ColdFusion website, to a shiny new WordPress site, the process began.

With an idea of exactly what she wanted, she set me to task to make it work. We included additional custom features, such as an interactive Google Map, and the ability to see the incredible detail in her large-scale mixed media paintings

The Goals

• Make it work on phones, tablets, and any device anyone wants to use
• Give Wendyll the ability to edit ANYTHING on the site, anytime
• Increase security to bring up-to-date (and out of ColdFusion)
• Give a clean, fresh style to the site, highlighting the work

The Challenge

In 2009, I developed a custom website for David, complete with a hand-coded gallery update tool and simple e-commerce abilities.

As proud as we both were that this site stood the test of time, we both agreed it was time to move into the next decade.

The Goals

• Make it work on phones, tablets, and any device anyone wants to use!
• Upgrade the ordering process, to include a full-fledged shopping cart and the ability to add and remove multiple sizes / versions of prints.
• Give David the ability to edit ANYTHING on the site, anytime!
• Increase security to bring up-to-date (and out of ColdFusion)!

The Challenge

Lucy had a website up, and it was fine. But she was moving to the next level with her art, and wanted her site to reflect that.

The Goals

• Highlight Lucy’s artwork in a way that does not compete with it
• Break the artwork up into multiple galleries
• Add a way to collect e-mails for future announcements
• Create a very simple, secure way for people to buy prints

The Challenge

Helen has enjoyed painting and photography for her entire life, and decided it was time to get herself out there, on the internet. But where to start?

Helen did what many do – she looked at the site of an artist she liked, then looked at who made it. And the process began!

The Goals

• Create a clean look that highlights the work, not distracts from it.
• Have a 24-hour gallery that anyone can find at any time
• Separate the work in TWO distinct online gallery sites – one for photography and one for her paintings.
• Within the sites, provide the art sorted by subject matter / category (e.g. Golf).
• Make the website work on phones, tablets, and any device anyone wants to use
• Provide alternative views and framing options.
• Easily accessible contact and gallery information
