The Challenge

NORML (National Organization for the Reform of Marijuana Laws), establihed in 1970, has re-established the Rhode Island Chapter to address issues currently front and center in states around the country. They needed an open-minded, professional developer to help accomplish their needs.

The Goals

• Create a resource tool for information and action items
• Enact payment solutions to enable membership signup and donations
• Extend the reach to social media through site integration
• Implement 3rd-party tools, such as newletter signups and action items from the National NORML HQ.
• Spread the word!

The Challenge

Since 2003, the Rhode Island Aviation Hall of Fame has honored more than one hundred individuals, groups, and even families who have contributed to the advancement of aviation history here in RI.

Unfortunately, there was no online tool to be able to view or search this valuable information, only a static HTML site that had existed for 12 years.

The Goals

• Create a searchable, indexed database of all honorees over the last 15 years
• Make the website work on phones, tablets, and any device anyone wants to use
• Give volunteers and admins the ability to contribute and approve content for the site, anytime
• Increase security to bring up-to-date
• Add the ability to sell and manage tickets to the annual dinner

The Challenge

For a dozen years, the Rhode Island Association of School Committees (RIASC) had the same website. It worked “okay”, but was getting hard to maneuver through, and did not work on today’s latest mobile devices.

They had been postponing the move because the site had so much content, but the time had come.

The Goals

• Create a members-only area to provide beneficial data documents behind a log-in wall.
• Make the website work on phones, tablets, and any device anyone wants to use.
• List public and private events, with the option to register via email.
• Provide simple tools to the organization so they can update their own content.
• Increase security to bring up-to-date
• Add the ability to sell and manage tickets to the annual dinner

The Challenge

In 2013, NBQA approached me about converting their decade-old HTML site into a new, smarter environment. Part of the challenge was that they had built up a huge wealth of resources over the years – all of which needed to be brought over.

The Goals

• Upgrade the site to be dynamic (use a database)
• Provide all membership documents and other materials online
• Make the website work on phones, tablets, and any device anyone wants to use
• Give volunteers and admins the ability to contribute and approve content for the site, anytime
• Add a calendar to easily list all events, meetings
• Work with the project leader to organize all content into logical areas
